North Table Mountain Ecological Reserve is located in Oroville, CA. It is an elevated basalt mesa  that has several waterfalls, beautiful vista of spring wildflowers, lava outcrops and are type of vernal pool. Fissures in the basalt typically soak up the winter rains.  Best time to hike is during spring where the wild flowers are blooming. I prefer to hike there after a rain day, where you will see lots of stream water flowing all over. Just make sure to wear an appropriate shoes, because it gets muddy. Expect to see grazing cattle, please them space. Not so much shade on the trails. You will see beautiful water falls, such as: Phantom Falls, the most beautiful one, Hollow Falls, Lower Ravine Falls, Ladder Falls and Beatson Falls.
